HOW TO FIND HOTEL MANAGEMENT JOBS

Working in the hospitality industry can be a rewarding experience, especially when your hotel guests recognize how essential good management is to the comfort of their stay. When you start looking for a new job in hotel management, use the same dedication to excellent service to apply yourself to finding the right position for you.

Search for Hotel Management Jobs

Step 1
Get the scoop on internship opportunities if you are just entering the field of hotel management. Your school's adviser should be able to direct you to hotels in your city that are seeking paid and unpaid interns, giving you the chance to gain valuable experience before entering the job market.

Step 2
Update your resume before you start looking for management positions in a hotel. As a hotel manager, you hold one of the highest positions and therefore the greatest responsibility for the success of the hotel. Your resume should reflect both your extensive experience and your leadership skills.

Step 3
Check out positions with hotels in your area by making cold calls. Though not always the most efficient manner in which to generate leads, by giving the human resources office of hotels in your city a call you may find out about positions before they are posted.

Step 4
Talk to friends in the industry to see whether they know of any positions opening up. Their employer may offer bonuses to staff who secure talented new employees--making referrals a benefit for you and your friend.

Step 5
Attend a job fair dedicated to the hospitality industry. These events are excellent ways to network with companies who are hiring professionals in hotel and restaurant management and will offer you a broader base of contacts as you continue in your career.

Step 6
Look for jobs through an online resource such as Hospitality Jobs Online (see Resources below). Websites such as these are dedicated solely to the hospitality industry making them a more attractive venue for employers posting ads about upcoming positions within their hotels.
